(ENGLISH BELOW) Det ble som et kalveslepp.
I strålende vær.

DAY I – SATURDAY: WE ARE GO!
It was like kids getting new toys! They were ecstatic and overjoyed. In the morning the weather was still great, and their Twin Otter was readied.
After a long and beautiful flight of about360km they land well of the Antarctic continent out on the Ice shelf. – It is one of the most special moment in explorers’ life when you are dropped far away in nowhere. You get everything out that you need to survive alone. Then the plane leaves.
It leaves behind is silence so devastating complete that it is close to a shock. As the shock wears off, pure joy and humble gratefulness takes over. Then it is just ne thing to do: Start walking.
That is what they did. At 13:30 local time (17:30 here), in -17°C and a slight headwind, they put in 6 stints and covered 21,2km. – That must be considered VERY good. Actually too god, and they promised to relax a bit tomorrow as the speed today had been too high, but they could not help it. It felt just great to finally be there and on their way.
Greetings: Jørgen says Happy Birthday to Jørgen Nordli
