Day 12, Wednesday 5th Dec: Not quite the way we had hoped for. Right out of a perfect rest day, the conditions did not take easy on Roland. There were no chance of enjoying the extra energy from the rest day as the wind became very heavy and the sastugi also started building. As he is not going straight into the wind, his sledge started dancing, and it became a struggle to get a rhythm as it ever so often got stuck or rolled.
With heavy snowdrift at least he had the luxury of believing the surface would be getting harder and better. That was comforting as he climbed quite a lot to 890 meters, still managing 19,5km (guess he was enjoyed he did not tip 20ků).
Very tired by camp time, but this time to problems to get the tent up. All in all a high quality performance.
